Abstract
The article analyses the editorial postscript paratext, by examining Elucidação: pós-escrito a Blues for Mr Name, by Reinaldo Santos Neves. In the text he presents six hundred notes or verbetes about the method for employing textual, verbal or illustrative sources used in the composition of his novel Blues for Mr. Name ou Deus está doente e quer morrer (2018). This article incorporates Gérard Genette's observations concerning paratexts and Cecilia Almeida Salles' geneticist reflections. There is traceable in Elucidação a poetic of narrative by Neves, once the exhibition of the composition methodology of the novel unveils his creative writing. This in turn illuminates our understanding of his other narratives.
